Woke up this morning in my van,
FINALLY! some decent sleep - vivid dreams and all.
The Santa Ana reservation just outside of Santa Fe seemed erie as I parked in the lot of a gas station next to a trucker and climbed in the back. Bright stars ahead above the cars passing on the interstate and bright neon lights from the parking lot behind me. I kept my contact lenses in so as not to be blind to any approaching...axe murderers?
Last night I stopped at a 24 hour Mexican diner in Albequerque and before that a giant casino just an hour outside of the city. The blinging lights and mute faces of the indians in the massive building didn't entertain as I plunked atleast 2 dollars worth of nickels into the machines and drank a cup of coffee... so I pressed on.
And I'm not sure what it is about driving into the night. Cities or the land betwixed them all seems strange and unfamiliar when it is just that - Somehow the daylight makes things seems less unknown - As I suppose is evident - because in the daylight there is this ability to see - and when you are in an unknown place you cannot imagine it as you know it in the daylight - Yes, this must be it - because I am not usually afraid of the dark.
We all have one - and if YOU don't, you should. We must have this entertainment.

California has influxed - or Seattle. Or Spokane kids just got hip to the net and fashion magazines. Don't get me wrong, the heshian hair is still here, the trash is still on the tongues and in the make-up pasted to the faces of the women working in the grocery stores - but the kids are hip. Or atleast, they look hip.
And by wild I meant animals - my new habitat is constantly changing and should be that way - more easily respresented by this obviously changing scenery - it was just as rapid in the city - where the block I lived was often my daily roaming ground - there is still this rapid change - seems to be so easily overlooked as there is this technilogically and human-driven pace of change unlike any before. Exponential. And this trip is taking me to all of the beautiful places I forgot. Because I have not seen them before - but they are still part of this equation.
